Sun Keeps Business Bright at Xerox Agency

Valerie SunWESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA., OCTOBER 2008 - Copier Headquarters' Agency Operations Manager, Valerie Sun, was recently chosen as one of the "40 under 40" honorees by the Pacific Coast Business Times. The award winners were selected based on a variety of criteria, including professional accomplishment, community involvement, and outside validation of those accomplishments.
The awards dinner took place October 13th, 2008 at the Topa Tower Club in Oxnard, CA.

Valerie Sun earned accolades for her leadership locally and nationally. As operations manager at Westlake Villagebased Copier Headquarters, a Xerox agency, she was part of a team honored among the top 5 percent of Xerox agencies in the country with Platinum Agency status.

In only her second year with the company, Sun helped Copier Headquarters snag a spot among Xerox’s President’s Club, its highest honor. She repeated the feat the following three consecutive years.

Copier Headquarters President Dan Strull said Sun strives for complete customer satisfaction. She even likes to write an occasional handwritten note to add a personal touch when communicating in business.

The 26-year-old was born and raised in Thousand Oaks. She graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in communication and business. It’s one of her proudest accomplishments that she graduated on time with her class after getting a bone marrow transplant and taking a semester off.

Sun was diagnosed at age 11 with a rare form of Leukemia, and it took years for her to identify a suitable bone marrow match. This sparked a passion to raise awareness about the need for donors, so she became an advocate and speaker for the National Marrow Donor Program.

Sun is also a counselor for Teen Impact at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she was treated, and she volunteers with Reach Out and Read.
